On May 28, 2019, The Abbot of the Silent Thunder Order, Taiun Elliston-Roshi will join me as we Zoom-in at 8 pm for Dharma discussion. Please think of a couple of questions for Hojo (Abbot) on any topic related to your practice.

On June 4, 2019, Enjitsu, Mokuyo, and Ikesei-sans will conduct the service in my absence.

Then on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, I will talk about Finishing Ango, Serving as Shuso, and discussing "Bring Me The Rhinoceros," the koan presented at Hossen Shiki, or "Dharma Combat," at the Atlanta Soto Zen Center on May 26, 2019.

Let's make this a "bring a Friend or Ten to Zen" night for us. We will sit from 7-7:25 pm and start the discussion at 7:30 pm. This gives us enough time to cover the topic. We should also plan on both tea and some finger-food for the hungry-ones among us.

In the meantime go over the koan and be prepared to ask dozens (or one) questions:

"Yanquan asked his assistant to bring the rhinoceros-horn fan. The assistant said it is broken. Yanguan said in that case, bring the rhinoceros itself. The assistant did not speak."
