Ikusei came to the Cape in 2006 and is a senior member of the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha (2016). Since taking Jukai, she has chaired our book study group, served as Tenzo and joins me at our West Falmouth Library sitting group on Wednesdays.
She is a librarian and had a career in Federal service. She's a gardener and takes care of her dog Harris Tweed. Her advocation is working with textiles in a variety of formats needlepoint, embroidery, and rug hooking. She actually has a combination Zendo and sewing room at her home. It is in this dimension I've asked, and she has agreed, to offer a series of talks at future dates on the general theme: "The Fabric of Zen."
