Welcome to July!
Takuhatsu(托鉢)(Pindacara) is a traditional form of dāna or alms given to Buddhist monks in Japan.[1]In the practice of takuhatsu, monks travel to various businesses and residences in order to exchange chanting of sutras in Sino-Japanese (generating merit) for donations of food and money.
Here I am a Soto Zen Monk With Cambodian Monks awaiting dana from Cambodians and Cambodian Americans at a Temple in Atlanta. I have had this experience with Friend Monks in the Theravada tradition three times.
We call offering our time and resources to support the services of the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha-Dana. As a 501c3 non-profit we exist because of friends and Sangha members. I ask for your dana. Each one decides the value of what we do,
So, please consider making a donation to FSZS. Simply go to falmouthsotozensangha.net scroll down until you find PayPal and contribute.
And, continue to use our services on Facebook, our Website, and on Zoom.
Email sensei@falmouthsotozensangha.net if you you would like to ask question or just set a time to talk.
Gassho (Bowing) for all you do for the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha,
Unshin Sangkau Dan Joslyn, sensei
